Travel in Comfort
I love to travel. The experience of meeting new people, trying different food and experiencing life from a different perspective are all fantastic. But some aspects of travel can be less than exciting. You can mitigate the inconveniences of staying in a small hotel room or cruise cabin, not having your own car, or traveling by air by packing a few simple things. The list contains associate links.
A Hanging Toiletries Bag. I stock mine with everything I need for a general trip and leave it packed, so I can just drop it in my suitcase a I’m packing. The hanging aspect is important, because you can put it on the back of the bathroom door wherever you’re staying to save on space and clutter.
A Fanny Pack. We use ours as a first aid kit. They’re handy because you can wear it as is for hiking, or toss it into a larger day bag for more urban exploration.
Power Banks. If you are using your phone a lot for navigation, recording pics and videos, and translation, then it is easy to blow through your battery well before you head back to the hotel.

Neck Pillow. A good neck pillow is a must. I like the ones that wrap completely around your neck and support your jaw.
Nylon Tote Bags. It is handy to have grocery-size bags that can crush down into your day bag or purse. (Especially as many places we have visited either charge for bags or don’t provide them. Not to mention the environmental impact.) I love this set because they have the same kind of handles as plastic grocery bags and have pretty designs.
Inverted Umbrella. If you are traveling by car, it’s nice to bring your own umbrella. I splurged on this inverted model, because it doesn’t get the car or floor wet. The double layers also make it great UV protection if you need to use the umbrella as a parasol when walking outdoors all day.
Luggage Scale. With my tendency to stop at thrift stores to find unique things when I travel, coupled with my addiction to Costco to bring home food gifts for everyone, I need to make sure my bags aren’t going to come back over the weight limit. This makes a portable luggage scale a must.
Luggage Handle Wraps. So many travel bags look alike, it can be hard to spot yours on the baggage carousel. If you have a distinctive pattern on your bag’s handles, it will stand out.
Foldable Slippers. Taking up almost no weight or space, foldable slippers come in handy when you’re on-the-go.
Eye Mask. Almost synonymous with travel comfort, an eye mask can block out the light, letting you sleep on a plane or other transport.
Compression socks. Compression socks can prevent leg swelling and discomfort on long flights or car trips. And these animal print ones are so cute!
Wireless headphones. Useful both for canceling the noise around for you, and for listening to movies or music while traveling.
Moist towelettes. Handy for when it isn’t convenient to wash your hands. I like these because they smell nice.
Mesh Laundry Bag. It’s an easy way to keep your dirty clothes separate from the clean stuff, until you have an opportunity to do laundry.
Travel Size Lotion and Balms. Travel is notorious for drying out your skin. Having a selection of products for lips, hands and face can help keep you feeling good on the go.
