5 Week Class: Focus on Genre: Waxing Poetic

Whether the mysteries you love take place in coffee shops with quirky amateur sleuths, or in gritty neighborhoods with jaded detectives, mystery fans can find much to get excited about in today’s market. Are you ready to write one of your own? Learn how to reverse-engineer a mystery plot, avoid deux ex machina endings, and create unique crime-solvers that will keep readers turning the pages. Students will have the opportunity to have samples of their work critiqued each week. Prerequisites are either Beginner’s Fiction, Novel Writing: Level 1, or some experience with basic fiction writing techniques.
