Saturday Night Write: The Benefits of Hands-On Research with Special Guest Bud Humble

March 16 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Our special guest for March, William “Bud” Humble, is a native Texan who’s been writing for over 25 years. Though he’s tried other things, his love of speculative fiction keeps drawing him back. His desire to help others achieve their literary dreams has led to him becoming the W.O.R.D. Director of Operations, a co-founder of Writers in the Field, and this year, he’s also the driving force behind the August 3 WORDfest SW in Burleson.

He will be speaking about the ways hands-on research can enrich your writing, especially when it comes to including the tactile details that will bring your work to life.  He will also talk about what Hollywood gets wrong and give you examples of areas where you might not even realize your book needs more research.

Saturday Night Write meets on the third Saturday of each month to provide instruction and encouragement to writers in the community surrounding UT Arlington (and anyone else who wants to drive out to meet up with us).  Our discussion leader presents a structured topic and background research to spark interactive participation, focusing on various aspects of craft.  Everyone is welcome to join us for these FREE events.
